The Omar Dengo Foundation (ODF) may request personal information from donors through its website for administrative purposes. The use of the website assumes each user has read and accepted these Privacy, Security, and Donation Policies, as well as the site’s User Terms and Conditions. Therefore, users may not claim ignorance of the aforementioned documents.

Privacy and Security Policy

Information gathering and use

The Foundation’s Privacy and Security Policy applies to the collection and use of the information provided by users such as yourself through our website. Said information will be used exclusively by the Omar Dengo Foundation for accounting purposes, as well as to keep our users informed about what is happening around the Foundation’s work. This information may not be used for alternate purposes. Furthermore, this information allows us to comply with local laws requiring that all institutions maintain a faithful record of all donations received, including each donor’s basic contact information.

The Omar Dengo Foundation respects your right to privacy and will not share your personal information with any third party without your consent, unless compelled to do so by law. The Foundation will not sell or distribute your information to third parties for marketing purposes.

Security

The Omar Dengo Foundation will use encrypted technology to safeguard each user’s personal information and prevent unauthorized access to our databases. The transfer of private data is protected by VeriSign’s 128-bit SSL Certificate (Secure Sockets Layer). Donation Policy

Minimum Donation

As with any other online transaction, each credit card issuer will charge us a commission fee for all donations received through our website. In order to prevent our donor’s generous contributions from being offset by these processing costs, we have established a minimum donation amount for online donations of US$25.00.

Maximum Donation

All donations greater than US$1,000 must be made via wire transfer to the accounts listed below. Furthermore, all donations exceeding US$10,000 must be accompanied by documentation indicating the source of the funds and their origin, in accordance with Costa Rican law.

Refund Requests

There are no refunds for donation amounts inferior to US$50.00. All refund requests must be properly justified – although this does not in itself guarantee the refund – and must be authorized by the Foundation’s Financial Department. In order to request a refund of your donation, please contact the Foundation’s Fundraising Department at +506-2527-6114 within 24 business hours of having made the donation (except weekends and holidays).

Recurring Donations

Your credit card will only be charged once every time a donation made. To establish a recurring donation, please contact us.

International Donations

Our virtual platform allows us to accept donations from all over the world when using VISA/MasterCard.

Donation Receipts

Once your donation has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email to the address provide. If you would like an official donation receipt, please contact us . All donations made to the Omar Dengo Foundation are tax-deductible in accordance with the Costa Rican Treasury Department. All donations made outside of Costa Rica are subject to the laws of those countries.
