The Omar Dengo Foundation (ODF) of Costa Rica is a private non-profit organization that has been managing and carrying out national and regional projects in the fields of human development, educational innovation and new technologies since 1987. Its different projects have benefitted more than 1.5 million Costa Ricans, including children and young people, students, educators, professionals, people from the community, and senior citizens.
The ODF has a multi-disciplinary founder group made up of business people and intellectuals who are widely recognized in the national media. It has a highly qualified team, which makes it possible to put into action internal and inter-institutional work networks to carry out ambitious programs with a real impact. Since its creation, the ODF has been building a major track record in the educational innovation field in Costa Rica.
It has decisively contributed to renovating the national educational processes by introducing and taking advantage of digital technologies and, in particular, theoretic and pedagogical conceptions that underlie these innovative applications.
